Colonization

Circular picto-sculpture of PIN VEGA made in mixed media on board with a diameter of 90 cm. and x 2cm. deep. This work was made in March 2021 and has a weight of 8 Kg. In this creation PIN VEGA wanted to pay homage to moss, a plant that he has admired so much since childhood. Moss is one of the first terrestrial colonisers of the earth that works in nature as an air filter; it stores polluting particles and transmutes them into nutrients. The fictitious moss in my work has colonised the fissure of a stony pink surface of great “fissibility” (the capacity of a rock or mineral to disintegrate into thin layers). He wanted to contrast the green of the moss with the pink of the stone as they are complementary colours on the chromatic scale, with the intention of favouring states such as harmony, vibration and movement. This work is a plea for the defence of Nature and aims to vindicate its beauty and protection.
