Murmaid is a multidisciplinary design studio that focuses on a collaborative and sustainable approach to design and the art of fashion. With an emphasis on textile art and upcycling, their Atelier is made up of co-creators from different multicultural backgrounds. They are inspired by today’s world and society as well as the one of our dreams… Altering and maintaining an unstable present that has taught them the power of resilience, collectivity, maintaining relevance and purpose. They are driven and moved by art, philosophy, sustainability and culture. They focus on the future and are aware of the importance of collective creativity, intercultural awareness and recycling. It is their responsibility to approach design with a conscious responsibility for our environment and our society. The future. The future of fashion is them, the next generation of designers. Our atelier is a failure in the fashion system, it was founded on the basis of rejecting a current system and creating a more sustainable future. Murmiad is run collectively, with an emphasis on social responsibility and ecological sustainability.
