Terre Rose

Circular picto-sculpture of PIN VEGA made in mixed media on board with a diameter of 60 cm. and x 2cm. deep. This work was made in May 2021 and has a weight of 3.5 Kg. All the works in which craquelure appears emulate the desert; the earth cracked by the effect of evaporation. Natural looking crackle is one of his ongoing technical pursuits present in all the works. His fascination with nature and the dried mud of lake beds has always been present to a greater or lesser extent in the works. A crack is always synonymous with rupture, with tension, but at the same time it is beautiful in itself. This work aims to show, first of all, the beauty that exists in nature. But it also aims to alert us to the dangers of global warming; many aquifers, riverbeds and wetlands disappear every year, favouring the desertification of the planet. The cracked surfaces that appear in many of the works are nothing more than barren, overheated expanses that were once home to water and life.
